On the island of Nevis, within minutes by boat, there are guided hikes to the peak of Mt. Nevis, equestrian trails and carriage rides, and beaches with views of Christophe Harbour. The cultural focal point of Nevis is Charlestown – the site of the oldest synagogue in the Caribbean, and the birthplace and childhood home (now an expertly renovated museum) of U.S. Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. As with St. Kitts capital of Basseterre, Charlestown is home to enticing cafes and restaurants, historic architecture, and vibrant markets and shopping.
